NPC CHAIRMAN WELCOMES HOUSE COMMITTEE ON OVERSIGHT VISIT

Today, 25th November 2024, the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, fnsa, received the Chairman and Members of the House of Representatives Committee on National Population and Identity at the NPC Headquarters in Abuja.
According to Hon. Okunjimi Odimayo, Chairman of the House Committee, the visit was an oversight function to assess the Commission's activities. He commended Hon. Kwarra's leadership, acknowledging the significant progress made by the NPC.
In his briefing, Hon. Kwarra provided an update on the Commission’s activities, focusing on the upcoming Population and Housing Census as well as the electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics initiative. He emphasized the Commission's commitment to providing accurate and reliable demographic data for development planning.
Following the briefing, Kwarra led the committee members on a tour of the ongoing construction at the NPC's permanent headquarters in the Mabushi District of Abuja.
The meeting underscored the collaborative efforts between the NPC and the legislative body to enhance national population management and statistics.
